We start with a conversation about your dog. Their personality, quirks, and what helps them feel comfortable.
We’ll also talk through what you’re hoping to create and where your artwork will live in your home so everything feels intentional from the start.
You’ll arrive at a quiet, private studio designed just for dogs. We take our time. Your dog can explore, settle in, and move at their own pace.
I guide everything gently so nothing feels overwhelming. We take breaks when needed. We let them be silly, curious, and completely themselves.
After your session, we’ll meet for your reveal.
This is where you’ll see your portraits for the first time and choose the images you love most. I’ll help you narrow everything down and design artwork that fits your home and your space.
Once your images are selected, we create your artwork.
From custom-framed wall pieces to albums and fine art prints, everything is designed to be seen, held onto, and lived with every day.
Each piece includes a matching social-sharing digital file so you can enjoy your images both in your home and online.

Most clients fall in love with a handful of images, often around 5 to 15+, and invest between $450 and $1,800, with some investing more as they build larger wall art or album collections.
Every artwork includes a matching social-sharing digital file (excluding keepsake items), so you can enjoy your images both in your space and online.
You’ll choose only what you love, and everything is designed to feel meaningful, lasting, and true to your dog.

Founder and photographer
Eleven Paws Photography is led by San Diego dog photographer Mekinsey, whose work is rooted in the connection between dogs and the people who love them.
Inspired by her own three dogs, she created a calm, dog-centered studio experience where dogs can settle in, be themselves, and feel safe. Her work focuses on creating meaningful portraits and custom artwork designed to live in your home and stay with you for years to come.

My dog gets some extreme anxiety anytime we go to a new place... Mekinsey was really great at letting me just try and calm down my dog and was extremely patient and understanding of her being nervous. She ended up getting some really great shots when my dog was feeling it. The low pressure environment she created was great and she never made me feel like she was annoyed with my dog during the entire session.
Definitely recommend if you have a high anxiety dog!

- Anna d,
It was a blast working with Mekinsey getting holiday photos done of my GSD and myself. She knows her craft extremely well and can get the pups to do anything. Such a personable individual and she works inside my favorite independent dog store (NW Dog) in downtown Poulsbo.
